This sweet little girl didn’t really want to have her photo taken, but I think I won her over when I asked her to hug her doggie.

My first newborn shoot (I didn’t even get to do this with my own daughter!) and I think it went very well!

I had to go to the old cemetery today to get a photo of a stone for someone. Despite the overwhelming heat and humidity, the place is flourishing. I am sad that I missed the wild violets in bloom, though I could still see their leaves (will have to check it out next year) but all over, in the center/sink hole part, were these lovely lilies.

Ok, so. A few months ago I started shooting in RAW all the time. Yes, I know, behind the times. Anyway.
So this photo, when I view it full size there is a lot of artifacting in the blurred background. It’s not nearly as bad in the original RAW file. When I saved my JPG, I saved it as full quality from Photoshop. So what am I doing wrong? If you got any advice, spill it please. :)

So, I am totally excited because I have never had my hydrangea bush put out purple flowers before. Usually they are pink. However, the bush is supposed to be some sort of hybrid that would put out red, white, and blue blooms. It’s never done that either, though. But maybe now it is trying? I think maybe it doesn’t have some acidy enough soil? Either way, they’ve always been pink. But tonight I noticed one bloom under the patio table (which is pushed up close to the bush at the edge of the patio) that was half pink and half purple, the upper half being purple. Then on the other side of the bush, in the shade of the lilac bush, are several purple blooms. This makes me wonder if the shade has something to do with it. I did notice a few weeks ago that the blooms in the shade seemed to be doing better than those that got more sun. But, really, I have a brown thumb, so the fact that this thing is alive at all speaks for itself… I know nothing.

Chase & Elijah and their balloons. When we left, Elijah was bringing a ton of balloons. I helped him into the Jeep and shut the door then got in and as soon as I shut my door… POP! One of the balloons broke. Ooops, it was really hot in there! :) We both screamed, lol, so I put the windows down real quick to try and cool it off. :)
